Tai Ping Launches the 2021 Yacht Collection

Bespoke carpet producer Tai Ping presents the 2021 Yacht Collection, a poetic homage to the ocean, designed specifically for yachts

For over six decades, luxury carpet manufacturer Tai Ping has produced custom handmade and woven creations for some of the world’s most iconic venues. From private residences to hotels, boutiques and private jets, the Hong Kong-based brand has acquired a reputation for excellence in projects of all kinds. Close to a decade after launching the Tai Ping Yacht Design Studio, which offers stylish floor coverings designed specifically for life at sea, the brand has launched its Yacht 2021 collection, a series of hand-tufted carpets that celebrates the beauty and wonder of seascapes.

Depicting various aquatic environments from an aerial perspective, the collection’s eleven designs evoke the poetry of water while making subtle comments on the impact of climate change. From waves washing over the shores of pristine beaches to streams flowing through the surface of melting icefields, the horizontal images invite contemplation and echo the boat’s surroundings.

Every carpet is brought to life through a three-dimensional sculpting process that uses carving and embossing techniques to create different heights and textures. The variations on the surface of each rug create a sculptural effect that adds depth, texture and complexity, turning every piece into a unique work of art. Handcrafted by highly skilled artisans using the finest New Zealand wool and silks, Tai Ping’s 2021 Yacht collection evokes a sense of luxury and sensory pleasure, and serves as a unique reminder of place in any yacht interior.

Launched at the Monaco Yacht Show in September 2021, the new Yacht collection was imagined for the world’s finest vessels, with bespoke products having already been installed on more than 400 yachts. All carpets in the collection can be customised to fit specific projects and installations by Tai Ping’s team around the world.
