A Studio Space That Embraces Nature

A Studio Space That Embraces Nature

Ho Chi Minh-based MIA Design Studio’s new studio space embodies the architecture firm’s overarching intention to create structures that are in harmony with nature

MIA Design Studio’s design director Nguyen Quoc Long says their team is fortunate to have an office that sits away from the bustling and rapidly growing capital, unaffected by the polluting elements of the city. Surrounded by rows of bamboo and a wide-open sky, and replete with a lush garden on site, the space is not only used for working and meeting but is also intended to encourage creative thinking.

MIA Design Studio has become known for creating projects that harmoniously combine the practicalities of daily life, balanced with a breath of nature. The team is passionate about working freely in their new space, which has been named Field of Idea. Here, they can draw the first lines of a sketch for a new project on glass walls that, to minimise the impact on the bamboo garden, have been built vertically in a zig-zag position to create a vertical airflow and enhance the garden experience. Being the predominant material, glass also features in the garden in the form of a set of long tables and two benches that provide further space for the architects to work, socialise with colleagues, cogitate or simply enjoy moments in nature.
