The Global Monument Design Competition Will See a New Love-Inspired Landmark Built in Da Lat

Launched on 7 March, the Global Monument Design Competition calls on designers and architects to pay homage to the city of Da Lat through a monument inspired by love

Held by Vietnamese hospitality group TTC Hospitality in conjunction with the Ho Chi Minh Design Association — Vietnam (VDAS) and Vietnam Design Award VMARK — Vietnam Design Award Organization, the Global Monument Design Competition invites architects and designers to conceive a new monument at Da Lat’s Valley Of Love. Under the theme Goddess of Love, the competition will reward the project that best reflects the idea of love, with the winning submission set to be erected at The Valley of Love’s amusement park TTC World.

The jury board for the competition will include leading experts including board member of the Japan Interior Designers’ Association Koji Sakai, chairman of the APDC Asia Pacific Design Center Patrick Fong, former CEO of the School of Architecture at the University of Nevada Steffen Lehmann, rector of the Industrial Fine Arts University Pham Hung Cuong, chairman of VDAS Ho Tan Duong, founder and CEO of the Vietnam Design Award Danh Tran, and founder and chairman of TTC Group Dang Van Thanh, who will sit as chairman of the jury.

Beyond recognising the vision of a leading designer or architect, the competition also aims to put a new unique landmark on the map of Vietnam and to establish Da Lat and the Valley of Love as key tourist destinations in the country.

Entries to the competition will open on 10 March 2023 and close on 5 June 2023, with the ten finalists announced on 15 June 2023. A gala ceremony will be held on 23 June 2023 to announce the final results and prizes.
