Acclaimed hotel designer Ian Schrager, known as ‘the emperor of detail’, is making his first forays in China with the opening of Asia’s first EDITION hotel. Located on the white-sand beaches of Southern China’s Hainan Island, EDITION Sanya boasts its own private ocean as well, and is worlds away from what you otherwise might think of as China. Each of the hotel’s 512 guestrooms, which include 46 suites and 17 exclusive villas, features stunning sea views and sophisticated, airy interiors. The sprawling property offers a number of dining options, but the offer to dine atop illuminated floating platforms is certainly novel.
