The epicentre of the Miami Beach scene has moved decidedly northwards with the opening of the Faena District, a new cultural hub under development with contributions by the likes of Rem Koolhaas, Bill Sofield and Norman Foster. At its centre is the new Faena Hotel Miami Beach — a fully restored Art Deco mid-rise with flamboyant Latin-inspired interiors. Colossal art works by Damien Hirst, an ultra-luxury spa, award-winning chefs, an intimate Art Deco cabaret theatre and immediate beachside access are but extras.
