Curated by Suzy Annetta of Design Anthology, and presented by DesignSingapore Council, the EMERGE showcase of Southeast Asian design talent returns to FIND – Design Fair Asia in 2023.

This year’s edition will feature the curatorial theme of “CRAFT + INDUSTRY: MAN + MACHINE”, with works by over 50 emerging and established designers from Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. Discover work shaped by a variety of approaches – from a rootedness in ancient craft, to interpretations of the traditional through new materials and techniques, to methods of working that are entirely reliant on contemporary technological innovation.

From fully developed to experimental, each piece is deeply considered, shining a light on the cross currents between traditional crafts, new technologies, and interdisciplinary methods. Ever present is the social, cultural, and economic value of craft and how it continues to contribute to storytelling and identity. A clear spirit of origin comes hand in hand with a universal relevance.
